Job Description
Full time. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Head of Organisational Support is responsible for the leadership of the Organisational Support functions that enable Disaster Relief Australia (DRA) to meet its strategic goals, whilst supporting preparedness, relief and recovery building operations. The Head of Organisational Support is responsible for providing strong and effective leadership to the Technology, Human Resource, Environment, Social and Governance, Integrated Management, Safety, Wellbeing and Health, Training, and Mobilisation functions.
Key Accountabilities
Lead by example in adhering to DRA’s values of Courage, Respect, Service and Tenacity and seek to instill a positive, values-based culture across the organisation.
Champion a culture of transparency, integrity and accountability within DRA, embedding organisational values into decision-making processes at all levels.
Work collegiately with other members of the Executive to pursue DRA’s vision and realise its overarching strategic goals.
In collaboration with Head of Operations ensure all DRA operational effects are effectively, efficiently and sustainability supported by all Organisational support functional areas including integrated operational and Organisational Support processes and procedures.
Cultivate and lead a high-performing Organisational Support team, empowering Organisational Support leaders to drive excellence and seek innovation and continuous improvement.
Via the Integrated Management Office and in consultation with the other members of the Executive team, synchronise and integrate the implementation of DRA’s strategic objectives and operational effects.
Collaborate with the CEO to set and drive the enablement strategy across all Organisational Support functions.
Define clear Key Result Areas (KRAs) for each Organisational Support function and hold service function leaders accountable for service level performance.
Lead the development and execution of Organisational Support function plans that align with the organisation’s strategy, focusing on enablement, sustainability, advice, and support.
Define, establish, and drive all key reporting outputs across all Organisational Support functions ensuring all reporting is well defined, accurate and supports evidence-based decision making.
Lead the Board assurance process including legislative compliance across the Organisational Support portfolio.
Give trusted and measured advice to the CEO, DRA Executive, and Board across all Organisational Support disciplines.
Develop and implement long-term strategies to drive sustainable growth, enhance operational effectiveness, and maximise impact in disaster relief efforts.
Partner with the CFO to achieve favorable financial results with respect to sustainability, cash flow, systems, reporting and controls.
Identify, implement and maintain relevant industry standards across Organisational Support functions
Support and enable the Executive to cultivate DRA’s strategic partnerships and source and secure additional revenue streams.
Empower Organisational Support leaders to partner with the executive to support department level initiatives.
