Purpose
The Preparedness/Big Map Administrator will provide administrative and coordination support to ensure the smooth planning, delivery, and reporting of Preparedness exercises. This volunteer role is essential in maintaining the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of the Preparedness area, supporting DRA’s mission to strengthen community disaster preparedness and resilience.
Key accountabilities
DRA’s organisational culture
• Lead by example in adhering to DRA’s values of Courage, Respect, Service and Tenacity and support a positive, values-based culture across the organisation.
• Champion a culture of transparency, integrity, and accountability within DRA, embedding organisational values into decision-making processes at all levels.
• Work collegially with other volunteers, staff, and stakeholders to pursue DRA’s vision and realise its overarching strategic goals.
Program administration
• Coordinate scheduling, venue booking, and logistics for Big Map exercises in collaboration with the Preparedness team.
• Maintain and update Big Map program documentation, templates, and participant resources to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Manage participant registrations, confirmations, and communications before and after each event.
• Collate and process data from exercise outputs, feedback forms, and after-action reviews for reporting and continuous improvement.
• Support the maintenance of Big Map-related content in DRA systems, including data records, calendars, and resource libraries.
• Liaise with facilitators, community stakeholders, and partner organisations to support the delivery of quality exercises.
• Assist with the preparation of Big Map reports, lessons learned, and recommendations following each exercise.
