About the Opportunity
The Coordinator – Current Operations contributes to the planning, launch, sustainment and demobilisation of national operations. The role supports Incident Management Teams (IMTs), deployed strike teams and external stakeholder coordination while helping ensure safe, efficient and well-managed operational outcomes.
The position also supports the development of Liaison Officer (LO) capability, contributing to improved communication, coordination and stakeholder engagement across DRA activities.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Providing operational coordination support across mobilisation, deployment and demobilisation phases
• Assist in launching and sustaining national operations
• Support deployed Incident Management Teams (IMTs)
• Contribute to situational awareness and operational information flow
• Support adherence to safety and security protocols
• Assist in coordinating Operational Reconnaissance Team (ORT) activities
• Facilitate communication between DRA and external agencies
• Support development of Liaison Officer (LO) capability and training resources
• Prepare briefing materials, updates and operational documentation
• Identify emerging risks, issues and improvement opportunities
What You Will Bring
• Strong organisational and coordination capability - experience from emergency services, defence etc. is highly regarded
• Ability to operate effectively in dynamic, fast-moving environments
• Sound judgement and decision-support capability
• High attention to detail and accurate record-keeping
• Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to manage complexity and competing priorities

• Experience in Defence, Emergency Services or operational environments is highly regarded.
Key Considerations
This role may involve deployment support during national operations, work within high-tempo operational periods, occasional travel to disaster-affected regions, and flexible availability aligned with operational needs.
